This winter, love your lips!
These
are the first and foremost to be affected as soon as the first winter
breeze arrives– yes, our lips are the most tender and delicate part that
need care in this harsh season of chill. Panic not, as Permanent Makeup
expert and Executive Director of ALPS Beauty Clinics, Ms Gunjan Gaur, shares some super useful tips as well as home remedies for your pout to be as fresh and calm as the winter season itself!
Say No:
To take proper care of lips, it is important to avoid certain things like licking our lips in order to keep them moisturized, which is not true and even dries them further. Instead, using a lip-balm on regular intervals is rather recommended to maintain well-hydrated pout. One should also never scrub her lips while scrubbing the face as it can cause serious harm to the delicate skin of the lips. Also, during winter season avoid very matte lipsticks as they can make your lips appear chapped and lifeless. Go for glosses to complete your look.
Lip-Pack:
A simple remedy for dry lips can be done by making paste of rose petals with honey and applying it on the pout. Keep it for few minutes and wash off before it dries. Honey will hydrate and nourish your lips while rose petals will infuse a rosy blush on them.
Navel Drop!
One can also take care of her lips without touching them! Yes, putting a drop of desi ghee or sarso oil for an overnight can help in bringing back the luster of your pout in no time.
Infant Care:
For your little kids, you may try cleaning their lips with kalawa/molli available in your pooja ghar. This will make their lips naturally pink and beautiful for years to come.
Night Care:
After removing your lip color and before hitting the bed in the night, try massaging your lips with fresh malai. This will not only soothe the chapped lips but will nourish them from within during an overnight’s time. And the next morning you will be ready with winter-proof, rosy lips!

Face off with acne (Pimples)
If there is anything that bothers a teenager more than his or her
homework, it's the 'curse' of acne or pimples as it is commonly known.
Although it occurs mostly during adolescence, there is no guarantee that
one can ever completely avoid it. "Just as you think that your days of
bad skin and pimple popping are over, you experience adult acne or
rosacea. This is a problem most people don't recognise.
Acne in adults is a plug of fat, keratin (hair and nails are composed of this) and dead skin stuck in a hair duct. When it's open, it's called a blackhead and when closed, it's called a whitehead. These often cause the hair duct walls to rupture leading to cysts of acne, papules, nodules, pustules, redness and infection. Boys are more likely to suffer scarring due to acne as compared to girls, but girls are more prone to adult acne," says Dr. Nipun Jain, Senior Consultant, Dermatology, Sri Balaji Action Medical Institute in Delhi.
ROOT CAUSE
Dr. Kiran Lohia, who runs Lumiere Dermatology in Delhi, adds, "The root cause of acne is hormonal imbalance. That is why it usually occurs during teenage years when the hormones are in a flux. Unfortunately, now with so much stress in our lives, along with the high amount of hormones in our foods (milk, cheese, yogurt and chicken primarily), people are getting acne later in their lives as well."
Be it a teenager or an adult, the process to prevent the emergence of acne remains the same - stay oil-free. Dr. Rohit Batra, dermatologist at Sir Gangaram Hospital, says: "By washing excess oil off your face and cleansing the skin regularly, one can effectively avoid the acne breakout. Acne occurs only to those with oily skin and to control acne, a dermatologist needs to control excessive oil by gels, face washes, among others."
"Acne patients," he continues, "should wash their face 3-4 times a day with a face wash containing tea tree oil, salicylic acid, etc. The patient should use gel-based moisturizers and sunscreens to avoid the acne breakout. Non-comedogenic make-up can be used in case of excessive acne." According to Dr. Lohia, the three fastest ways in which acne can be treated are by Acne Peels, LED therapy (known as ClearYou technology) and AFT. "These three are ideal for eradicating acne faster without side-effects.Acne Peels work by exfoliating from within the obstructed follicles, thereby cleansing out the skin of any existing or upcoming zits. ClearYou LED science works by using light to specifically kill the bacteria that is worsening pimples. It does not affect the unaffected skin and only specifically targets that inciting pathogen. Finally, AFT works by simultaneously reducing the inflammation and targeting the bacteria. All these three treatments can be done with or without medication, and can quickly get rid of those zits for good," she says

Jennifer Lopez got panic attack while ending marriage to Mark Anthony
The 45-year-old 'Booty' singer, who announced her separation from Anthony in 2011, wrote she suffered from a panic attack just before a photoshoot and she blurted out that she wanted a divorce, reported the Daily Mirror.
"It was one of those moments when you're so scared you can't even scream. In a blur of fear and panic, I looked at Benny and my mother and blurted out the words: 'I don't think I can be with Marc anymore.' Then I burst into tears," the singer wrote.
She also wrote that people thought her life was great with a shining career and a happy family but only she knew that her marriage was falling apart.
"It was out. The thing I feared more than anything in the world. I collapsed into their arms and began to sob. Anybody looking from the outside in would have thought my life was great. I had a husband and two beautiful children. What people didn't know was that life really wasn't that good. My relationship was falling apart and I was terrified," she said.
