Recipe of The Day

Fillet with Tomato and Olive Sauce

 

This is a typical Italian dish using a combination of typical delicious Italian ingredients.
Main ingredients: fillet, tomatoes, basil, oregano, black olives
Ingredients:
8 slices beef, fillet
1/2 kg tomatoes, ripe
4 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp basil, fresh, chopped
1 tbsp oregano, dried, crushed
1/4 cup black olives
2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
Salt and pepper
Directions :
1. Peel tomatoes and remove seeds. Dice into medium dice. Chop olives into small pieces.
2. In a small saucepan, heat 2 tbsp oil over medium heat. Add garlic and stir. Add tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.
3. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in olives and leave for 2 minutes.
4. While tomato sauce is being cooked, make fillet. In a medium skillet, heat remaining oil over medium heat. Add fillet slices and pan-fry until brown from both sides.
5. Reduce heat and leave until meat lets out its water and absorbs it. Put fillet slices on a serving platter and pour tomato sauce over them.
